Our Story

Have you ever found yourself on the weekend with nothing but time on your hands? Probably not.

In the mid nineties, my neighbors always suggested that we go have breakfast at the Chino Airport. At the time I couldn’t see the value in driving all that way, just for breakfast, so I put it on the bottom of the “To Do List”.

In the early to mid 2000s my kids were in elementary school. There wasn’t a free weekend for months. Between birthday parties, baseball, gymnastics, go kart racing, family gatherings, holidays and work. Our schedule was packed.

In 2011 we had a different outlook. The economy has seen better days, and for the first time, in a longtime, we have a lot more free time on our hands. So in the summer of 2011 my family and I set out to find that great restaurant at the Chino Airport. Flo’s Airport Cafe was worth the wait. We had a great breakfast without spending a ton of money. Not only did we take care of breakfast, but we spent some quality time together. It wasnt just breakfast. It was an experience. Where else can you get some flapjacks and check out planes? In the weeks that followed, we took friends and family with us to share the experience with them.

I found that the more people I told about the great place we found, the more they suggested other airport diners. So here we are AirFieldDiners.com. A resource you can use to find other inexpensive, dinning options at small municipal airfields around Southern California. Please leave your comments, good or bad. I would love to hear from you.

Thanks
David
